EMP8 – Ramblin’ Man with a Wheelgun

In this episode I mostly just ramble about stuff thats on my mind and in my hands. I introduce a new segment to the show, talk a little bit about the riots in England and the importance of protecting our rights, and about my Ruger SP101.

There are some sound issues with this, at one point I fade out because I thought I heard my car alarm so I stood up to look through the window and see if I had to cut someone, and then the neighbors were banging on the walls and I couldn’t leave my wanderin’ fingers off my SP101 and kept rotating the cylinder. I’ll get better about background noise, I promise!

There is also a contest to win one History Channel branded Ogio Messenger bag. The rules are easy, sign into Facebook and like the Empty Mags fan page and the History Channel fan page, and then on the 17th I will announce the winner who will be chosen from fans on the EMP page at random. (If you’re already a fan, do nothing, you’re already entered to win!)

Nice episode. I like your show because it’s a lot like what’s going on in my head when I’m reading a gun magazine or watching a gun show. Yes, things fade in and out, and there are more than one topic. But the content is great. I love the info on the Ruger SP101. And I love your info on your AR’s.

I guess I should do a podcast on Glocks now, to balance the Force.

And then I yell out to the iPod (as I would to my magazine) “What if I don’t have a freaking Facebook page, History Channel?!! What then?”

Not your fault. I guess I’m too old. Besides, everyone I went to high school with that I care about, I see every day as it is.

Another enjoyable episode. I liked the talk about the Ruger, especially since most times when I hear the word revolver, it is followed by Smith & Wesson. Don’t get me wrong, I adore my M&P and am growing very fond of my Bodyguard, but it isn’t too often that I hear Ruger talked about with the fondness that you have for your SP101.

    Again, well done.

IMO Ruger Revolvers are incredible. They don’t get as much fanfare for a few reasons: They are heavy (built like a tank). They don’t produce as many different models as Smith. They aren’t famous (Dirty Harry). Etc., Etc.

I have a few other non-smith revos that will be talked about sometime in the near future, and at least one of them in episode 12.
