This episode was recorded using my new digital HD camcorder. Audio quality is lacking, but that wont be common place as I am also getting a digital audio recorder within the next few weeks to take care of my audio recording problems that I have, and I’ll also be learning how to squeeze the best audio out of this camcorder as I use it, and will be doing more video episodes in the future. So, with that in mind, this is my virgin run on doing a video review of a product. Please let me know your thoughts on it.
Pictures and more information on the product reviewed can be found at http://elzetta.com/ .
Note right at the beginning I said I was recording using a laptop rather than my normal podcasting rig. I misspoke I meant camcorder, not laptop.
This is mostly a continuation of last weeks show, talking about some feedback I got on the pocket carry subject, and some other things.

Let’s face it, carrying a firearm in your pocket is not as good a choice as carrying on your belt – but when you are carrying you have to make some compromise between accessibility and carry convenience. For me lately, pocket carry has been the way to go. Between the heat/needing to wear light clothes, and the need to take the gun on and off my body a few times a day, pocket carry has been my answer. Listen to this episode to hear all my thoughts on the subject of carrying a firearm in your pocket.
The North-South Skirmish Association [N-SSA.org] is an organization that allows people to competitively shoot Civil War era firearms and artillery. I spent some time on the phone with my friend Christine [www.aksandcupcakes.com] and she tells us about the NSSA.
This week I jump into the dreaded 1911 Carry Condition 1 vs Carry Condition 2 debate.
There was one thing in this episode that I had planned on mentioning that I didn’t. If for some reason condition 1 is not an option, I would much prefer carrying in condition 3, rather than condition 2. You don’t have to drop the hammer, and racking the slide in condition 3 is a gross motor skill. Thumbing the hammer in condition 2 is a fine motor skill. Guess which one is more likely to be flubbed under stress?
This week I talk a little bit about when I forgot my gun, and whether or not you can control making carrying a “forgettable” routine. How do you fix it?
To go along with joining the Gun Rights Radio Network, I decided this show should be about gun rights. This show features an audio clip, borrowed with permission from the Hand Gun World Show, and an interview with Tommy from Black Weapons Armory regarding the new requirement from the ATF that calls for gun dealers in the states that border with Mexico to report any sales of two or more long rifles to the same customer within a 5 day period.
I’m still working out trying to record interviews and get better audio from them so I apologize for the audio quality for that portion of the podcast.
Please make sure you check out the Black Weapons Armory Website as it is also my featured site for this week. They are a local store but have a web store as well.
In this episode I talk about some guns on my “to get list” that are either impractical, unrealistic or unobtainable – some some combination of. Some bourbon fell out of the bottle and into my mouth before I recorded, and I left some of my flubs in, because I have bourbon and I don’t care.
In this episode I mostly just ramble about stuff thats on my mind and in my hands. I introduce a new segment to the show, talk a little bit about the riots in England and the importance of protecting our rights, and about my Ruger SP101.
There are some sound issues with this, at one point I fade out because I thought I heard my car alarm so I stood up to look through the window and see if I had to cut someone, and then the neighbors were banging on the walls and I couldn’t leave my wanderin’ fingers off my SP101 and kept rotating the cylinder. I’ll get better about background noise, I promise!
There is also a contest to win one History Channel branded Ogio Messenger bag. The rules are easy, sign into Facebook and like the Empty Mags fan page and the History Channel fan page, and then on the 17th I will announce the winner who will be chosen from fans on the EMP page at random. (If you’re already a fan, do nothing, you’re already entered to win!)
In this episode I talk about my very favorite AR, and my next build. Also if you have a favorite rifle (AR or AK) or are planning on building or buying one, tell me about it! I might talk about it on a future show.
This show was done in haste as I didn’t get a chance to record when I normally do, and I am having laptop trouble. Hope you enjoy it anyway!
In this episode I talk a bit about using the .22lr as an aid to supplement your regular training, and I talk a short bit about range bag contents. I also at the last minute decided to add a little review of the Hornady Lock and Load Classic reloading kit.
In this episode I talk with Drew from RangeLog.com. He tells us what the site is used for and how it will benefit any most any type of shooter out there. There are some audio issues with the phone recording that make it hard to understand some of the things I am asking him, but he comes in clear enough, and a couple parts where we slightly go off topic but thats my fault and overall it was a very enjoyable discussion that I think you will enjoy.

"He is trying to be the serious one of the bunch. I suspect he has ulterior motives. Somebody said he is into gun podcasting because it is a gun babe magnet. Chicks with guns are hot plus armed back up is cool." -GunFreeZone
